Performing Arts

There is a long history at Adirondack Camp in the performing arts. The Camp trophy for most deserving thespian is over eighty years old! The all-camp "Sing-Off" dates back even further. At Adirondack we strive, through music, theater and dance, to bring forth the confidence necessary for every young person to shine on stage and the self-assurance to stand up and express themselves anywhere in front of a live audience with conviction. Put your heart into your performance, and we promise you positive feedback from an unconditionally receptive audience that will be your partner in success. Whatever the creative endeavor – a musical role in a scene from Mary Poppins, a one act play about a race to discover buried treasure, stand-up comedy, storytelling, jam sessions (bring your own instruments, our borrow ours), composing a ditty or singing a song or writing a play – you can do it here at Adirondack.

Each summer Guest Artists are invited to enhance and diversify the Performing Arts at Adirondack. One such artist came to join us directly from the Broadway stage and share her experience of life with the cast of “The Lion King”. She then taught her own version of African American inspired dance to a loyal group of delighted dancers.
