Water Sports at our Adventure Summer Camp

Simply put, Adirondack Camp has one of the most extensive summer camp water sports programs in the United States. Why not take advantage when one is surrounded by water? Indeed, Adirondack Camp is blessed with an extraordinary one and a half mile waterfront on the northern end of Lake George in Upstate NY in the Adirondack Mountains, one of the most clean, clear, beautiful lakes in the country.

Take a mile and a half of waterfront, spread out four secured swimming areas, two wide open bays and a half dozen ports of call for a fleet of windsurfers, sail boats, rowboats, kayaks, canoes, waterski-boats -- almost one boat for every two campers -- and you have the makings of an exciting and diverse summer camp water sports program.

The teaching techniques are modern; and so, where it matters, as in the sleekest aerodynamic windsurfers or racing sailboats or big horse waterski-boats – is Adirondack’s fleet. The camp swimming and boating areas on the other hand, look like they have always looked – simple, wooden, rustic -- keeping with our commitment to preserve and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us.

There are a ton of things to do on this lake; and Adirondack Camp offers liquid adventure for all ages, interests and ability levels. Whether that be fishing up the tastiest catch of the day, snorkeling over Crazy Kate’s lair, rolling a kayak for the first time, earning your first mate in time for the sailing race with the Lake George Yacht Club across the way, getting up on the wake board, starring in the latest round of Marco Polo, swimming a mile across Lake George and back, saving a goal in the Intergalactic Water Polo Championship of the Stars, being selected for the fast and furious Adirondack War Canoe meet, sunbathing on Spider Rock, becoming a full fledged Red Cross approved lifeguard – at any age and any skill – if there is a will, there is a string of water sport adventures on Adirondack’s waterfront waiting for you.
