Welcome to Adirondack Camp!

Welcome to Summer Camp at Adirondack Camp – one of the original great traditional summer camps of North America – that remains to this day, after one hundred and six years, one of childhood's greatest treasures. Nestled into the bedrock shores of Lake George in Upstate NY, kids of all ages come from around the world to make really close friends, have outrageous fun, discover their true selves and have the summer of their lives.

Situated in the oldest mountain range on the continent in the heart of a six million acre State preserve (called the “Adirondacks”), secure on its own peninsula and surrounded by 1.5 miles of private waterfront -- the common denominators for our campers are sparkling blue, drinkable water, deep green mountains, and the promise of summer adventure and recreation as only a kid can imagine!

At Adirondack Camp, our campers return year after year to one of the few remaining settings where the core traditions of summer camps blend seamlessly with contemporary lifestyles. Our mission at Adirondack Camp remains constant – healthy minds and bodies, strong character. Respect for the land and every living thing large and small, as well for each other, adventure tempered by the opportunity to take increasing responsibility, sharing, growing, spirit, cooperation, independence, courage, creativity, leadership -- these are the values we live by.

Our Adirondack Camp staff is built around a core group of incredibly skilled professionals and educators – most of whom are parents as well. Many of our camp counselors are Adirondack Camp alumni, as well -- young adults from around the world with a love for working with kids. Each is carefully selected for his/her unique set of skills, to be sure – but first and foremost it is for their integrity and ability to inspire – to be pied pipers in a children’s world.

Traditional summer camp activities at Adirondack Camp translate to such lasting challenges as earning your Bowman in archery or becoming a Master in Fencing; Earning your Skipper in sailing or ‘46’er in climbing the high peaks around you. But Camp, today, also includes some distinctly non-traditional selection of pastimes...windsurfing, martial arts, white water rafting, a dynamic Adirondack Arts program and a long list of alternative sports – not to mention Backwards Day, Carnivale, Crazy Hair Day, Casino Night, Gold Rush, the visit of the Russian Ambassador and a dozen more special events like these – that we call our orchestrated chaos component to a great traditional summer camp in the Adirondacks.
