* ¡Atención! Attenzione! This Daily Camp Activity Schedule is subject to massive and spontaneous interruption by the powerful forces of such strange and wondrous happenings at Adirondack Camp as Backwards Day, Carnivale, Blue-White games, Super Hero’s Day, Pirate’s Day, the Big Dance. Weekends at Adirondack Camp offer their own special activities and opportunities for both peace and quiet as well as such craziness that befits a place where FUN & WONDER are its middle names!
Daily Schedule
The daily activity schedule at our traditional summer camp is designed to put smiles on campers’ faces while providing a first rate learning and growing experience. Each day has four hour-long activity blocks (A, B, C, D). Campers keep the same schedule for one week, giving them five days to build their skill sets, all under the guise of having fun. Adirondack Camp is unique in that every campers’ schedule is based solely on the desires of the campers. Campers turn in preference sheets indicating what activities they are most interested in taking. Campers may also tweak their camp activity schedules over the course of the week if they wish. Campers are free to take the same activities over and over, or mix things up and try something new every week. It is in this way that we can offer a very wide range of activities without compromising the depth of the program. A camper can try all 25+ activities that Adirondack Camp offers, or can elect to focus in one activity to really become an expert. It's your choice!
Adventure Period
Adventure Period runs following the last camp activity period of the day. A whole slew of activities (including some less conventional ones) are opened up for Adventure Period, and campers may roam between them at their leisure. This time affords campers the opportunity to explore many different activities, some of which are not offered during regular camp activity blocks. A typical Adventure Period might include options like letter writing, Ultimate Frisbee, a tetherball tournament, and chilling at the flag pole.
Weekends
Weekends are really fun at Adirondack Camp. They are designed to be different from the traditional weekly summer camp activity schedule and are a series of well-organized games and fun all-camp events.
Saturday
Saturdays alternate between Special Days (such as Super Hero Day or Pirate Day) and Parents' Visits. They are fantastic fun and center on an exciting theme. Camp counselors create their own roles with the Program Director and lead group activities, lifeguard, and sometimes allow themselves to be bombarded by water balloons. The key to Special Days at Adirondack Camp is the element of surprise, creativity, and enthusiasm. If you have a great idea for a themed Special Day, let the Program Director know! Saturday nights usually include a camp dance~ a regular camper favorite.
Sunday
On Sundays we have an optional breakfast buffet from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. There is no reveille bugle on this morning and the day is more laid-back in nature, but camp counselors are still on-duty. Some campers and staff choose to go into town for church in the morning. Blue/White events take place in the afternoons and campers get to make changes to their new schedules during "Line-up, Sign-up." Line-up, Sign-up is created by the Program Director and staff at 10:00 am that morning and includes fun and outlandish activities not normally offered during the week. Sunday nights conclude with Awiskini.
