Welcome to one of the last remaining grand old summer camps in America! Founded over 100 years ago for the express purpose of building strong young hearts and character, our agenda stands unabashedly unchanged. Our focus remains on the whole individual and personal growth that is fueled by awesome and outrageous fun. The time line of our program is tailored to build upon itself, day by day, week by week, enabling each camper to grow exponentially in personal accomplishments and confidence. Despite a fragmented, remote control world, three out of every four of our eligible campers return every summer to our four and eight week sessions; and those, who do, make their own schedules and pride themselves in their increasing levels of skill, privilege and responsibility.
What are the “secrets” of a great traditional co-ed overnight summer camp for kids -- like Adirondack Camp?
Psst! Here is one more secret of a great kids camp: Adirondack Camp has always been a “safe place”. We don’t mean just physically; but we mean it is always safe to try out different things, to take risks in exploring and discovering the things that are important to you. And a third “secret” – boys and girls age 7-16 and caring, experienced counselors come to Adirondack from around the world; so, we strive to keep Camp large enough to be able to offer a very diversified program of “4 camps in 1”, but still small enough to know everybody by first name and make close friends for life.
They are a small but powerful community, these Adirondackee. They walk with their heads tall in the sky, but with their feet firmly planted back here on earth. They have learned the secret of laying small accomplishments one by one upon the other and building, that way, a house with a strong heart and character; and, of course, they have mastered the ultimate secret of knowing how to find fun and, then, wonder – especially wonder -- in almost every little thing. Enjoy reading about our family on the pages of this site. Try your hand at making your own Schedule or navigating the Map. You will know, by the time you are finished if Adirondack Camp is the one and only place for you.
