Who, What, Where

A boy at camp holds a small turtle, a summer camp counselor looks on.

Family! We are family.

We are an invisible chain of generations spanning a century of actively involved owners and directors who grew up here and whose children and grandchildren are here too, building bold hearts, strong character. Our summer camp kidsboys and girls, ages 7 to 17, come from around the world, many, also, through their own family generations — 190 strong, plentiful enough to have choices, few enough to know each other by first name.

Build the Camp community small enough to know everybody by first name and to make close friends for life, while large and diverse enough to preserve a ton of choices as well to be rich in spirit and unique in experience.

Our staff, a permanent corps of extraordinary educators and parents, surrounded by young adults who are guided 24/7 by their unswerving love for children, as well as allegiance to the values we serve—almost one for every two campers, strong—enough to assure within the family the individual attention every child needs.

What

We are the third leg to Home and School – a safe place (physically, emotionally, psychologically) that puts kids first and that, within the overarching umbrellas of community and family, places each of our young charges on his or her own journey of self-discovery and personal accomplishment.

The goals are many: rest up from the pressures of modern life, make friends, feel good about one’s self, have fun, find your quiet confidence, share in our values—of cooperation, effort, leadership, courage, responsibility, creativity, spirit, independence–have fun.

The objective is singular: _to have the best summer of your young life—life changing!

We are a traditional summer camp, an overnight camp for girls and boys, on a mission to build lasting values and friendships under the simple guise of having fun – we are one of the last of the grand old summer camps for boys and girls from a simpler age, where spinning stories under the stars one night could be even more special than winning the medley the next day.

Where

Adirondack sits, half-hidden, in a safe and powerful, deep forested place of astounding natural beauty surrounded on three sides by the crystal blue, drinkable waters of world famous Lake George.

Adirondack Camp is located on Lake George in New York's Adirondack Mountains.

Cast in bedrock formed in glacial times, she reminds more of the ruggedness of a New England camp or the windswept panorama of a Maine coastline than of a Lake George Summer Camp in upstate New York, where she actually sits, in the midst of the country’s most ancient mountain range in the Adirondack Park preserve, just a few hours’ drive from big city civilization (e.g., Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Montreal) and a day’s flight from anywhere else around the globe.
