Part of Adirondack Camp’s “Lake George Five” (LG5), Buck Mountain is a moderate Adirondack hike on the east side of Lake George offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The hike is approximately three miles one way, for a total of 6.6 miles roundtrip.

Hikers can choose between two trailheads on Buck Mountain. One begins off Pilot Knob Road, while the other starts from Shelving Rock Road. Both trails lead to the same breathtaking summit overlooking Lake George.

Buck Mountain has long been considered one of the must-do hikes in the Adirondacks and remains a favorite destination within Adirondack Camp’s wilderness trips program.
