From the Field to the Stage: Highlights from Week Three

It was another action-packed week on the peninsula! From guest artists introducing us to croquet, rowing, scrapbooking, and even line dancing, to the excitement of World Cup soccer, an inter-camp sports tournament, and all the energy of Blue/White, and a full schedule of activities. We capped it all off with ADKChella, a vibrant celebration of music and fun. With so much happening across camp, it’s safe to say—we loved every moment of it!

On Friday night we had our performing arts show we hold once per session - ADKChella! Campers take the stage and perform a song, dance or play an instrument in front of the whole camp! Prior to that we had our gallery night on the tennis courts, showcasing our beautiful arts pillar!

Forest Lake Camp Land Sports Tournament

This past week we had our annual inter-camp tournament with Forest Lake Camp! On Wednesday we travelled there for an intense three games of tennis, ultimate and soccer, we ended the day with a 2-1 score in favor of FLC. Friday was the day to bring it back on home turf! Here we played speed rock-climbing, archery, fencing and basketball! Camp spirit and sportsmanship filled the whole peninsula, and we reclaimed the trophy once again, with the final score being nail-bitingly close at 4-3!

Guest Artists & Coming Up This Week

We have Emily running cookie-making and Janet is running “My Adirondack in Miniature” and paper book-making! It’s the last week of session one so as well as activities, we a whole lot of events running like the Big Triangle, Blue/White sing-off and of course our closing awards and wishboard ceremonies on Thursday night as we say farewell to our session one friends!
