At Adirondack Camp, one of the best traditional summer camps in the Adirondacks, our Arts pillar invites campers to dive into creativity every day. This summer, kids explored their imaginative sides through Creative Arts, Ceramics, Culinary Fun, Drama, Eagle-I Photography & Video, and Nature!

Guided by plaques like Courage, Curiosity, and Creativity, our arts program encouraged campers to try new skills, express themselves boldly, and step confidently into their own. Adding to the excitement, guest artists brought fresh energy and inspiration with special workshops in glass-blowing, magic, music and songwriting, line dancing, miniature model making, and more—opening doors to creativity that stretched far beyond the peninsula.

Our Arts Director, Cat, gives us the highlights of the Arts pillar this summer:

  • Friday Tea parties in Culinary Fun
  • Creative and comedic green screen usage in Digital Photography
  • A new kiln in ceramics (thanks Sandy Huber and Lake Placid High School!)
  • Staff Kieron and Marian teaming up to have a second session filled with Eagle-I and Drama class colabs
  • “Wicked” themed first session ADKChella & “Boogie Wonderland” second session ADKChella
  • Field Trips to Shelburne Farms to sketch and milk a cow!
  • A journey to Fort Salem Theater to see Newsies Jr!
  • The addition of NATURE to the Arts program!!!!

Nature welcomed into the Arts pillar

by Cat Miller

The nature program is officially a part of the ADK Arts pillar! The return of Nature to daily programming in camp serves as a way for campers to connect to their surroundings and gain an amazing understanding of the wonderous Adirondack Park! Each day in nature has a theme- you may birdwatch one day and learn tree identification the next. Nature campers got to tend to the camp garden at the red house, and learn about the proper tools and techniques needed to grow plants. They went on field trips to meet interesting reptiles and walk the many land conservancy trails near camp! How lucky are we to have the best ecosystem around to create the most awesome and fun nature program a summer camp could ever dream of?? See you next summer in the ARRRTS pillar!

You heard Cat- see you next summer, and summer 2026 starts now with Early Enrollment! Open until November 1st, more information about session lengths and prices this year, have a look at our dates and rates page. Please contact Rikki at (518) 547-8261 or email with any questions.
