1.5 Miles of Private Lake George Shoreline
A Peninsula Like No Other
At Adirondack Camp, the lake isn’t just part of the experience, it defines it. Our coed sleepaway camp sits on its own private peninsula with 1.5 miles of shoreline on Lake George, giving campers nearly a full circle of access to one of the cleanest lakes in North America! This isn’t a single dock or a shared waterfront activity area. It’s a fully immersive lakefront camp experience that makes ADK truly one of a kind.
A Versatile Waterfront Camp
Many camps rely on a swimming pool, or a small man‑made lake, or a big lake that borders only one small part of their property. Adirondack Camp offers something unique for a sleepaway camp: a peninsula that places campers on the lake, not just beside it. Campers get to experience Lake George from every direction. Our waterfront activity areas are thoughtfully positioned all across the shoreline, and one of the great advantages of this is versatility. Lake conditions rarely limit are waterfront programming - if wind picks up on the north side of the peninsula, our kayakers, canoers, and stand‑up paddleboarders can move to calmer water on the opposite shore. Same with any of our waterfront activities. This flexibility allows activities to run consistently while keeping safety at the center of every decision.
Every part of our camp shoreline is utilized
From the north end of the peninsula, looking out toward Glenburnie and Anthony’s Nose, our waterfront activities begin at the waterski dock, home to our three behind‑the‑boat sports: waterskiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing. From there, we move to Stillwater swim area, located right next to canoe dock, before continuing on to kayak and SUP dock.
As the peninsula curves, we pass Sign Point. Each Sunday evening, the entire camp gathers here to watch the sun set over Lake George and share stories and memories from the week just passed. Moving south, the shoreline opens to Senior Point, home to windsurfing and Senior swim area, with Black Mountain visible in the distance. Further along, sailing dock becomes a hub for fishing and the Adirondack Camp Yacht Club (ACYC).
But we’re not done yet. The remainder of the peninsula brings us to Junior swim area, then Intermediate, and finally Spyder Rock, offering an incredible amount of variety just within our swimming program alone. (For a better visual, you can check out our interactive activities map here.)
A Unique Lake George Sleepaway Camp Experience
Our 1.5 miles of private Lake George shoreline isn’t a bragging point - it’s a promise. When your summer camp lives on its own peninsula, the lake isn’t an activity you visit.
It’s part of the whole experience.
