Senior Girl’s Line Head

Hey! My name is April; I am 24 years old and from Grand Haven, Michigan. I am a high school special education teacher in West Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University in 2022. I am also currently pursuing my master’s degree in education from Michigan State! I have spent my life growing up on Lake Michigan and love all things involving water - especially Salmon fishing with my dad. Some of my hobbies include sewing, writing, baking, and thrifting! I live for college basketball, love hanging out with my two cats, Lulu & Stinky, and am a classically trained pianist. I am so excited to continue being the Senior Girls Linehead this summer!

This will be my second summer at Adirondack Camp. I am forever grateful to have found ADK, stepped out of my comfort zone, and stepped in and embraced a leadership position. Some of my favorite things about ADK are the lifelong friends I made and the amazing community that exists on the peninsula. I love being surrounded by hard-working, unique, enthusiastic, and FUN people who push me to take risks and grow as a leader. I love disconnecting from life, putting away my phone, and living each day in such a beautiful place. I also really, really love the campers. My job as linehead allows me to be involved across camp through planning activities, line nights, and cabin nights in collaboration with the other line heads and counselors.

This summer, I hope I can be an example to campers of how to push yourself beyond what you think you can handle - and watch them see their own growth and reward over their time at ADK. I hope to be a positive and genuinepresence on the line and throughout camp to be able to support all campers. I cannot wait to be a mentor to all of the wonderful humans that come to ADK this summer.

See you in June!
