Water Skills

Talofa Lava, Malo e lelei and greetings to all. My name is Camila and I will be one of your Camp councillors for camp 2023. I am 21 years of age and a proud Samoan, Tongan, Fijian all the way from South Auckland, New Zealand that’s travelled all the way to Camp Adirondack to help with teaching swimming and to participate as a lifeguard.

Back in New Zealand I grew up in the waters of the beach, pools around me but soon found passion in netball. I hope one day to become a pro netball athlete. As a first time participant I look forward to seeing and meeting all the new people as well as hopefully teaching and helping students learn new skills at camp.

My main goal at camp is to also help bring a little bit of my knowledge and culture to camp Adirondack because the little girl I am back home will always be the same little girl anywhere I end up, to embrace all. I thank all the camp leaders for seeing potential in me and for giving me this opportunity to work at Camp.
