Hello Camp Adirondack! My name is Curry Nye, and I am from Ligonier Pennsylvania. This fall I will be a freshman at The College of Charleston, and I will be majoring in International Business and marketing. One fun fact about myself is that I can rap all the 50 states in alphabetical order like eminem in one breath. In my free time I love to ski, play the guitar, skateboard, or play tennis.

This will be my second summer at ADK but my first summer as staff! I am going to be teaching swimming and I cannot wait to spend all day by the water! I fell in love with the lake just as everyone does which is completely ironic giving I came to camp with a fear of the lake. Nonetheless, I conquered my fear which is what I want to teach any camper to do if they have a silly little fear restraining them from living their best ADK summer.

What I love most about ADK is not the tight-knit community, or the joy that echoes across camp from the dining hall during meals. It’s not the bedtime stories and bug net hugs, nor the belly laughs heard from neighboring cabins. What I love most about camp is the quiet parts that some don’t notice. The clanking of the sailboats in the harbor, the call of the loon, the soft waves brushing against the shore at night. That is what brings me back to camp, back to my second home.
