Water Skills

Hi everyone, I’m Elliott. I live in a small village near Bristol in Southwest England. I finished school last summer and am currently taking a gap year, before starting my degree in Architecture at Plymouth University in September, I am 18.

It will be my first summer at ADK and I am so excited, can’t wait to meet you all and teach swimming at such an awesome location. It’s a real dream come true for me; I’m counting down the days!

I love all things outdoors; I grew up being part of scouting. Living in sight of the Mendip hills and not far from Dartmoor and Exmoor in Devon, I spent much of my scouting time caving, wild camping, hiking, kayaking and rock climbing. This has given me a passion for adventure and learning new skills. We have a holiday home set on a beach in Devon where I spent much of my childhood. So, when I’m not having adventures on land, I am in the water surfing, paddleboarding and swimming in the sea. I loved spending days by the sea with my family, playing football and cricket with my brother. One of my favourite things to do is watch my local football team, Bristol City.

Being able to work in an outdoor environment, so close to nature, and giving campers a great experience is such a privilege. Having looked at many camp USA sites, ADK was my first choice, I was drawn to the wildness, philosophy, and location. Being able to spend the days teaching swimming on Lake George is truly amazing, and I look forward to meeting you all and helping to make the summer of 2023 truly memorable.
