Our summer overnight camp community is comprised of 180–200 boys and girls, roughly equal in numbers. Compared to other girls and boys camps, this makes us a small camp and a place where everyone knows your name. There are 100 more in staff with typically three counselors per cabin caring for 8 to 16 campers.
50% of our campers are from the Northeast and mid–Atlantic corridor, 30% from the rest of the country and 20% of our campers are International — coming to us, literally, from everywhere around the globe, e.g., from Europe, South America, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Russia, Ukraine, China, Mexico, Africa. Though ADK exemplifies USA summer camps, our international campers contribute a global awareness that we believe is paramount. There is to Adirondack a cultural richness and sense of global awareness, on the part of each of our campers, that cannot be underestimated and only comes with a combination of a USA summer camp with an international camp experience.Video: international
Our return rate is amazing! 75% of our campers return for another summer! And a testimonial to our success is that younger siblings follow their brothers and sisters in troves. We also have our fair share of “legacy families”—campers whose parents, grands and greatgrands all attended ADK.
