Part of Adirondack Camp’s “Lake George Five” (LG5), Cat Mountain is a rewarding Adirondack hike featuring a wide range of terrain, including streams, wetlands, and beaver ponds. The three-mile trail to the summit is considered moderately difficult, with a few more challenging sections along the way.

Rising to an elevation of 1,956 feet, Cat Mountain sits slightly farther from Lake George than nearby peaks like Buck and Black Mountain, but rewards hikers with expansive panoramic views of the lake and surrounding Adirondack Mountains.

The hike to the summit of Cat Mountain provides an excellent introduction to hiking Adirondack trails and is one of many outdoor adventures explored through Adirondack Camp’s wilderness trips program. .
