Teens benefit significantly from sleepaway camp -- including time away from electronics and social media, physical activities and time outside, improved social skills, and a chance to challenge themselves, learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and have fun!

Adirondack Camp was ranked among the best sleepaway camps across the United States – and is the Number 1 ranked camp in New York State!

As a traditional co-ed, sleepaway camp located on a private peninsula on pristine Lake George, we are fortunate to have a rich tradition and a proven track record of delivering a wonderful summer experience. While about 75% of campers return year after year, our new campers quickly become part of our “Adirondack family.” We also have campers from across the US and about 20% of our campers coming from overseas which further enriches our community.

Senior Summer Camp Program for Teens ages 13 to 16

At ADK we have a thriving Senior Camp Program where over 100 boys and girls aged 13-16 years enjoy special status among campers.

Adirondack Camp Seniors have a later bedtime, special Seniors-only evening programs, more challenging wilderness trip options, and the opportunity to live in Camp’s prime real estate with the most outstanding views of Lake George. In addition, they have increased responsibilities that help them grow to become leaders and role models for our younger campers.

At ADK, we understand that teenagers are experiencing exciting and challenging developmental changes as they seek to separate from a world created by their parents. ADK recognizes this and provides a safe environment for them to grow and develop independence while giving them the tools and confidence to thrive as they become older teens and young adults.

The tools and skills they receive at camp – such as standing up for themselves, dealing with peer pressure, keeping their cabin area clean – continue with them as valuable life skills. And living for the summer without smart phones or social media while surrounded by beauty and nature provides an experience that’s getting harder and harder to find elsewhere.

Plus, it’s amazing fun – Seniors can try sailing, kayaking, water skiing, rock climbing, cooking, the arts, or hiking in the Adirondack mountains all while gaining independence and living with other teens from around the globe.
