Closing One Chapter, Opening the Next: Bring on Session Two!
Week Four brought a meaningful close to Session One at Adirondack Camp, full of celebration, reflection, and of course a whole lot of fun on the peninsula! We made the most of our last few days together with activities, from the archery range to the waterfront and everywhere in between. We had some big milestones this week also, with 18 campers swimming the Big Triangle a true ADK endurance challenge: a 1.8-mile swim from Canoe Dock to Anthony’s Nose, across to Glenburnie, and back again! We had 8 campers complete the 5Alive, another challenge of endurance, hiking all of the Lake George 5 - the mountains surrounding Lake George in one day.

Blue/White this week
One of this week’s Blue/White events was a camp-wide egg and spoon race! We also held Sing-Off, where both teams took turns singing the camp song and their own team spirit songs. Each team also rewrote a popular song with camp-themed lyrics, performing their unique original song for the whole camp. Check out both teams’ performances below!

We closed out Session One with one of Adirondack Camp’s most heartfelt traditions: Wishboards. Each line gathered together to reflect on the memories made and the time shared over the past few weeks. Counselors presented their campers with hand-painted, personalized wishboards—crafted with care and filled with moments unique to each camper’s summer journey. We lit a candle placed at the center of the wishboard, and as the ceremony came to a close, we took a quiet moment to reflect, and then blew it out—each of us making a wish to carry forward with us, wherever we go next.

As the week came to a close, we said heartfelt goodbyes to our Session One campers, sending them off with full hearts and lifelong memories. At the same time, we welcomed fresh faces and new energy for Session Two, kicking off another incredible stretch of summer here on the shores of Lake George. The peninsula is buzzing once again, and we can’t wait to dive into more adventures, more growth, and more of the magic that makes Adirondack Camp home.
Guest Artists This Week
We have an advanced guest artist week this week featuring the return of magician David Black and the talented team from ADK Glassblowing Studio. In addition to their regular magic and glassblowing classes, both are offering advanced sessions for campers ready to take their skills to the next level!
