Campers & Staff

From All Over

About 20% of our campers (and many of our counselors) come to us from different countries around the planet. We take great pride in our rich, global community. Sharing different cultural traditions such as celebrating Bastille Day, learning Poi from our New Zealanders, and passionate cheering for ADK World Cup teams only adds to the fun! When you join the ADK family for a summer, your country’s flag will proudly hang in our Dining Hall next to all the other countries representated. Hear what some of our international campers have to say:

Our global community provides a cultural richness that is unique among summer camps. Roughly 50% of our campers are from the Northeast and mid–Atlantic corridor, 30% are from the rest of the US, and 20% are international — coming to us, literally, from everywhere around the globe — The UK, France, Italy, Germany, Venezuela, Canada, Russia, Chile, Sweden, Israel, the Dominican Republic, Poland, China, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, to name a few. This diversified camper body contributes to a global awareness that we believe is paramount in today’s complicated and often divided world.

I love Camp because I became really good friends with people I would never normally meet. Adirondack Camp throws you in with people from all over who may have different interests in addition to having fun. It’s like that corny slogan “be together, not the same!
