A Look Back on Week One
It’s hard to believe how quickly the days have flown by. Our first week of camp here on the peninsula was packed with adventure, laughter, and connection as campers dove into their activities for the week. Evenings brought their own magic: Line Night saw each line bond through special activities such as beach party, garage sale, and a rainbow hunt; Cabin Night had some campers making pancakes in Culinary Fun, tubing, stand-up paddleboarding, enjoying evening swims and campfires, and even heading out for overnight trips to Chapel (that’s our camping spot just past Spyder Rock). We wrapped up other evenings during the week with Club Night and Awiskini, rounding out a week that was full of energy and spirit.

Blue/White this week
The week began with our Sorting Hat Ceremony, where new campers were welcomed into their Blue or White teams, followed by a fierce and fun tug of war where Blue took the win. Wednesday, our first “Triple” brought the competitive heat: Juniors played newcomb, Intermediates took to the basketball court, and Seniors battled it out in flag football. The White team came away with two wins, Blue with one—bringing the week’s score to an even 2–2. The competition continues today, and spirits are high on both sides!

Fourth of July
Each cabin brought the red, white, and blue to life—creating themed posters, dressing up, and parading to lunch in full patriotic pride. The energy and creativity were unmatched, and it was a joy to see the whole camp come together in celebration.

Trips Highlights
From scenic hikes to Roger’s Rock, Lye Brook Falls, Mount Marcy, Cat Mountain, Swede, and more, to an exciting kayaking trip on the Sacandaga River, and even a baseball game outing to Burlington—it was a week of unforgettable outdoor adventure.

On the menu next week
Campers can look forward to meals like breakfast burritos, jamacian jerk chicken, chicken curry and barbeque (which we have every Wednesday and Saturday!). The vegetarian options are looking tasty too with meals like stuffed cabbage, deep fried tofu and crispy cauliflower. As always, at lunch and dinner we have our two salad bars, bowls of apples, oranges and bananas and at breakfast we have fruit salad! Some meals also feature the option for pasta, or sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. Looking forward to a great week two on the peninsula!
