At Adirondack Camp, activities aren’t just about learning a skill—they’re about exploring passions, building confidence, and sharing experiences with friends. One of our most popular choices each week is Culinary Fun, our hands-on cooking activity that fills the air (and bellies) with delicious aromas.

Like all activities at ADK, campers choose their schedules for the week—but Culinary Fun tends to fill up fast! Each week, our young chefs roll up their sleeves to make a variety of sweet and savory recipes, from creamy flan and crispy fried chicken to fresh pasta, homemade pizza, fluffy pancakes, colorful kebabs, tangy lemonade, and irresistible cupcakes - something new every day. Campers take part in the full process—prepping ingredients, cooking, cleaning up, and, of course, enjoying the fruits of their labor at the end. Yum!

Culinary Fun is part of our Arts pillar at camp, alongside Creative Arts, Ceramics, Photography, Eagle-I Video, and Drama. While it’s always delicious, it’s also deeply educational—campers gain essential life skills while embracing camp plaques such as Creativity, Curiosity, and Collaboration. Some weeks feature Advanced Culinary Fun, a double-period class where campers take on more complex recipes and techniques. And during ADKchella and Gallery Night—our celebration of the arts at the end of each session—Culinary Fun prepares a special snack for the whole camp to enjoy!

From sizzling grills to flour-dusted countertops, Culinary Fun is where campers discover the joy of cooking, the camaraderie of shared meals, and the creativity that comes from turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary.
