Some Eagles soar above all others.
The Adirondack Camp family lost one of our own this past week. Robert Hoffman was a loving son, brother and friend. As a camper, Rob stood out, winning tennis titles, being named Best Camper on the Senior Boys Line, and leading the White Team as Senior Captain for three sessions.
Rob later outdid himself, setting the standard for what it means to be an Adirondack staff member, whether in the cabins, as a tennis instructor, and throughout the special days and activities that make our camp unique. He would ultimately rise to the position of Program Director, directly impacting the lives of each and every camper and staff member, and putting his special touch on all facets of camp life. Whether showing up to Carnivale every year as “Bobo” the somewhat happy clown whose personality could change on a whim, or surprising the campers in costume as Smokey Bear while working with local park rangers to teach campers about fire safety, Rob’s distinct personality helped enlighten and invigorate camp in ways no others could replicate.
Rob left this world a better place than he found it. He made us all better simply by being around us, as his caring, humorous and personal touch shone though every person he met, changing and improving Adirondack Camp forever.
For those who wish to say a final goodbye to Robert, there will be a wake this Tuesday September 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Chapel at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. 35 Adams Place, Delmar NY 12054, phone (518) 439-4951. A service will be held at The Chapel at St Thomas at 9:30 am on Wednesday September 30th.
Just as ‘the spirit of the Eagle never dies’, Rob’s spirit will live forever on the peninsula, and inside each and every one of us who had the truly great pleasure to have known him during his far too short time with us. Noonway, Robert.

2015 Fall Tom Tom
We hope you and your family have been enjoying some quality time together and are transitioning back to school. Camp is quiet now without all the laughter on the water and songs in the Dining Hall. Staff has worked hard to pack up everything for next season and so we turn our thoughts to the future.
Adirondack Camp would like to announce that Enrollment for Summer 2016 is now officially open! It may seem early to think about next summer but enrolling early guarantees your camper/s a space for next summer and ensures that you receive our Early Enrollment Discount. Our CIT Program (which opens for enrollment September 15th) will likely have a waiting list and our Ranger Program and other age groups are already starting to fill.
You may submit your application by logging into your CampInTouch account, clicking on the camper application, and selecting the 2016 season from the drop down menu. A $500 deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining amount of the total $1000 deposit ($500) is due by Oct. 1st. If you need to reactivate your account, please let us know.
This year, after much consideration, we would like to ask you to use credit cards only for the deposit for camper enrollment. We are trying to find the balance between ease of payment for our families and prudent management. As you may imagine, we have a long list of desired capital and program initiatives and would far rather use the roughly 3% fee credit card companies would garner for the direct improvement of Camp for our campers. We do not want to inconvenience our families, however, and if this does not work for you please do let us know.
Last year we initiated and hope you will consider an alternative payment option if you have not done so already – to make payments by (e) checks. Similar to credit card payments, these can be paid over time in scheduled amounts and on set dates. This provides an easy way for you to pay your child’s tuition over time and enables Adirondack Camp to directly reinvest any credit card fee payments to support our program and facility development. If you have any questions about payment options and/or to change your method of payment please email . You can also change your payment method by logging into your CampInTouch account and signing up for automatic payments to be deducted directly from your checking account.
Please do not wait too long to enroll as spaces especially for certain ages will likely be limited again this year. Don’t miss out! Enroll today. If you need help enrolling or have any questions, please contact us at 518-547-8261.
Have a wonderful school year and we hope to see your camper again next summer!
